Monitoring

The technological, economic, legal and other social conditions in the context of Big Data are constantly changing. ABIDA responds to these dynamics with continuous monitoring:

New social problems are identified, promising or controversial techniques and business practices and new trends in development and research are followed. Furthermore, an essential part of the content monitoring is to reveal thematic and interdisciplinary contexts and issues.

The work involves reviews (mass media, journals, policy documents, reports of associations, etc.), mapping of arguments, and attending relevant events. In addition, there is an exchange with the technological Big Data Centers of Excellence and research projects of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi).

Besides regular internal reporting within the project, the findings of the monitoring will be used to select and prepare the topics of the in-depth studies and scenarios.

Results from the monitoring will also be used to create dossiers.
